We plant seeds.
Communities grow.
SEED educates children free of charge, trains their teachers, and brings clean water, trees and health care to the communities around them. Every rupee is audited, and every result is counted.

Areas of focus
Eight causes. One mission.
Education is where SEED began. Around it we have built programmes that remove what keeps children out of school and families out of opportunity: poor health, unsafe water, climate damage, poverty, conflict and disaster.
Education
Free schooling for children whose families cannot pay, better-trained teachers, and classrooms that welcome children with special needs.

Health care for every corner of Pakistan, starting at WAPDA Town
Our first community health hub in WAPDA Town, Lahore, brings three services together under one roof: a Dialysis Center, the Hope Care Free Dispensary and a Vocational Training Center. It is the model we will take to cities across Pakistan.

Dialysis Center
Patients treated every month at WAPDA Town, Lahore, who could not otherwise afford dialysis.
Hope Care Free Dispensary
Free consultation and medicine for families who cannot afford a doctor, at WAPDA Town, Lahore.
Vocational Training Center
Practical skills for young people and women, so families can earn a steady income and keep their children in school.

Eight causes,
one community
Our programmes cover eight areas of focus. Education comes first, and the others take on the problems that keep children from learning and families from thriving.

About us
Educators who decided
to do more
SEED, the Society of Educators for Educational Development, is a Lahore-based non-profit. It began with education and grew outward into the needs that keep children out of school: health, water, the environment, poverty and disaster.
Our story
Started in the classroom
SEED was founded by educators and business leaders who saw children leave school because families could not pay fees, children fall ill from unsafe water, and teachers work without training or support. They registered SEED under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, so that the work would be accountable and would outlast any one person.
More than 15 years later, SEED has educated over 30,000 students free of charge, trained 3,000 teachers, supported more than 5,000 children with special needs, and built 300 water filtration plants. It has planted over half a million trees, and its health hub in WAPDA Town, Lahore, runs a Dialysis Center, the Hope Care Free Dispensary and a Vocational Training Center: the first step towards a pan-Pakistan network.
Vision
A Pakistan where every child learns, and every community has what it needs to thrive.
Mission
We provide free, quality education and teacher development, and we meet the health, water, environmental and family needs that stand between children and learning.
A message from the Chairman
Assalam-o-Alaikum, and greetings to every friend of SEED around the world.
History does not remember the comfortable. It remembers those who looked at a broken world and chose to repair it.
Pakistan stands at a defining moment. We are one of the youngest nations on earth, with one of the largest numbers of children out of school. Yet that is not merely a statistic; it is the greatest untapped force in our history: future scientists, engineers, healers and leaders, waiting for an open door.
SEED exists to open that door. For more than fifteen years, we have done so with purpose and discipline. Over 30,000 students have learned free of charge. Three thousand teachers have been equipped to inspire. More than 5,000 children with special needs have heard the words every child deserves: you belong.
We also learned a hard truth: education cannot flourish in isolation. A child cannot learn when water makes her ill, when a warming climate closes her school, or when a parent's survival depends on care the family cannot afford. So we refused to look away. We have built 300 water filtration plants and planted over half a million trees. At WAPDA Town, Lahore, our Dialysis Center treats 90 patients every month, and our Hope Care Dispensary offers free treatment to families in need. WAPDA Town is only the beginning: our vision is to take this model of care to every corner of Pakistan.
If my life's work has taught me one lesson, it is this. In an age of accelerating change, every society faces a simple choice.
Adapt, or perish.
Nations rise when they invest in their children, and decline when they do not.
Our mission, therefore, is larger than charity. It is nation-building: the determined work of turning potential into power, and hope into opportunity.
To our donors, partners, volunteers and teachers: you are not spectators to this story. You are its authors. Every contribution is accountable, audited and invested in a human life.
The seed has been planted. The soil is ready. The future is waiting.
Let us build it, together.
With conviction and gratitude,
Our values

Every rupee goes to our aims. Our accounts are audited every year.

- Information about beneficiaries, especially children and patients, is kept confidential and shared only with staff who need it to deliver a service.
- Records are stored securely, access is limited by role, and data is kept only as long as legal, audit and Zakat-accounting requirements demand.
- Anyone may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information SEED holds about them by writing to the email address on our Contact page.
- This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Web fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts.
02Terms of UseRules for using this website

- SEED's name, logo and content may not be used to raise funds, or to suggest endorsement, without written permission from SEED.
- Links to external websites are provided for convenience; SEED is not responsible for their content.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and disputes are subject to the courts at Lahore.
03Donation, Receipts & Refund PolicyHow gifts are accepted, receipted and used
- Every donation is used solely to promote SEED's objects, as required by Article 15 of our Articles of Association.
- Donors who give for a specific cause have their gift restricted to that cause. Where a restricted programme is fully funded, SEED will contact the donor before redirecting the gift.
- An official receipt is issued for every donation. Donors should keep it for their own records and any tax purposes.
- Donations made in error (for example a duplicate payment or wrong amount) may be refunded if SEED is notified within 30 days with proof of payment.
- SEED does not accept donations that are anonymous above legal limits, from sanctioned persons, or that come with conditions conflicting with our objects or the law.
- Recurring donors may change or cancel their monthly gift at any time by contacting SEED.
04Zakat PolicyHow Zakat funds are kept separate and spent
- Zakat received by SEED is recorded and held separately from other funds.
- Zakat is spent only on beneficiaries eligible under Islamic law, such as deserving students, dialysis patients and Hope Care Dispensary patients from low-income families.
- Beneficiary eligibility is assessed and documented before Zakat funds are used.
- Zakat is never used for administration, salaries, fundraising or construction of assets that are not owned by eligible beneficiaries.
- SEED reports Zakat received and spent in its annual accounts.
05Child Protection & Safeguarding PolicyKeeping children and vulnerable adults safe
- SEED has zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, neglect or harassment of children and vulnerable adults.
- All staff, teachers and volunteers who work with children are screened, sign a code of conduct and receive safeguarding guidance.
- Adults should not be alone with a child out of sight of others, and must never use physical punishment.
- Photographs and stories of children are used only with written consent from a parent or guardian, and never reveal a child's address or school location in a way that could put them at risk.
- Any concern must be reported immediately to SEED's designated Safeguarding Focal Person, who will act and, where required, inform the authorities.
- People who report a concern in good faith are protected from retaliation.
06Protection against Harassment PolicyA safe workplace for everyone
- SEED follows the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010 and its Code of Conduct.
- Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination, is prohibited.
- SEED maintains an Inquiry Committee to hear complaints confidentially and fairly.
- Complainants and witnesses are protected from retaliation, and proven misconduct leads to disciplinary action.
07Anti-Fraud & Anti-Corruption PolicyZero tolerance for fraud, bribery and misuse of funds
- SEED does not tolerate fraud, theft, bribery, kickbacks or misuse of donated funds or assets by anyone acting for it.
- Gifts or hospitality that could influence a decision must not be offered or accepted.
- Suspected fraud must be reported at once to the Chairman or the Finance Secretary, or through the whistleblower channel.
- Every report is investigated. Confirmed cases lead to disciplinary action, recovery of losses and, where appropriate, referral to law-enforcement agencies.
08Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorist Financing PolicyMaking sure funds are clean and reach real beneficiaries
- SEED complies with Pakistani laws on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism, and with guidance issued to non-profit organisations.
- We identify donors of significant amounts and partners before accepting funds or entering agreements ("know your donor" and "know your partner").
- Funds are received and paid through scheduled banks, with two authorised signatories for every withdrawal (Article 13).
- SEED screens donors, partners and suppliers against the sanctions lists notified by the Government of Pakistan and the United Nations.
- Unusual or suspicious transactions are refused, recorded and reported to the relevant authorities.
09Conflict of Interest PolicyDecisions made only in SEED's interest
- Board members, office bearers, staff and volunteers must declare any personal, family or business interest in a decision, contract or supplier.
- A person with a conflict must not take part in the discussion or vote on that matter.
- No income or property of SEED may be paid to members or their relatives (Article 15).
- Declarations are recorded in the minutes and reviewed by the Board each year.
10Whistleblower PolicySpeaking up safely
- Anyone, inside or outside SEED, can report suspected wrongdoing: fraud, abuse, harassment, safety risks or breaches of law or policy.
- Reports can be made in confidence to the Chairman or any Board member, in writing or by email.
- Reports made in good faith are protected, even if they turn out to be mistaken. Retaliation against a whistleblower is itself misconduct.
- Every report is acknowledged and looked into, and the reporter is told the outcome where possible.
11Code of ConductHow everyone who represents SEED behaves
- Treat beneficiaries, colleagues, donors and partners with respect and dignity, without discrimination of any kind.
- Act honestly, protect SEED's funds and property, and keep confidential information private.
- Stay politically neutral when acting for SEED, and never use SEED's name for personal gain.
- Follow every SEED policy, including safeguarding, anti-harassment and anti-fraud.
12Financial Management & Internal Controls PolicyHow money is handled, recorded and audited
- SEED keeps complete records of all transactions, assets and liabilities as required by law (Article 11). The financial year ends on 30 June.
- The Board approves the annual plan and budget. Spending outside the budget needs Board approval.
- All funds are held in scheduled banks, and withdrawals need two authorised signatories (Article 13).
- The accounts are audited every year by an independent firm of Chartered Accountants appointed by the Board (Article 12).
- The annual report, audited accounts and a full list of grants and amounts are presented at the Annual General Meeting (Article 8).
13Procurement PolicyFair, transparent purchasing
- Goods and services are bought on the basis of value for money, quality and fair competition.
- Purchases above limits set by the Board need written quotations from at least three suppliers.
- Suppliers related to Board members or staff must be declared and cannot be chosen by the related person.
- All purchases are supported by approved invoices and receipts kept for audit.
14Volunteer PolicySupporting the people who give their time
- Volunteers receive a clear role, an introduction to SEED's work and the policies that apply to them.
- Volunteers working with children or patients are screened and sign the Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
- SEED provides a safe environment, reasonable out-of-pocket expenses where agreed, and recognition for service.
- Volunteers may raise concerns at any time with their coordinator or the Chairman.
15Media, Photography & Consent PolicyTelling stories with dignity
- Images and stories show beneficiaries with dignity and never in a degrading way.
- Written informed consent is obtained before any photo, video or story is published; for children, consent comes from a parent or guardian.
- People may withdraw consent at any time, and their material is then removed from SEED's website and future publications.
- Patient medical details are never published without explicit consent.
16Complaints & Feedback PolicyWe listen and we act
- Donors, beneficiaries, partners and the public can give feedback or make a complaint through the Contact page, by phone, WhatsApp or in writing.
- Every complaint is acknowledged within 7 working days and normally resolved within 30 days.
- Complaints about a Board member are handled by the other Board members; serious matters are reported to the Board.
- SEED uses feedback to improve its programmes and reports on complaints in its annual review.
